Testify of Christ: Second Session

As shared in my last post, the primary purpose of modern prophets and apostles is to testify of Christ and stand as witnesses of him and his resurrection.  This morning I studied my notes from the April 2011 LDS General Conference and gathered up what was shared about Christ as these prophets and apostles filled this role.

- Boyd K Packer, President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
  • Christ's Church is to be named after him (i.e. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).
  • Name of the Church spreads the name of Christ.
  • Pray to the Father in Christ's name.
  • The ordinances are to be done in Christ's name.
  • The Gospel is an invitation to come unto Christ.
-Russel M Nelson, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
  • Christ did not teach cafeteria approach to obedience.
- Richard J Maynes, Quorum of the Seventy
  • We must establish Christ centered homes.
  • Parents much teach their children the Gospel of Jesus Christ
- Cecil O Samuelson, Quorum of the Seventy.
  • Sure witness of the truth of Christ's gospel comes by Holy Ghost
  • Christ's Atonement is always there for us when we struggle
- Dallin H Oaks, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
  • Christ-like desire leads to Christ-like action
  • Christ gives the power to change desires
  • "I testify of Jesus Christ whose love, teachings, and atonement make it all possible."
M Russell Ballard, Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
  • All things bear record of Jesus Christ.
  • Love God and Christ then share that love.
  • Think, feel, and act more like our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
  • Seek charity, the pure love of Christ.
I know that despite my attempts to listen, my notes were by no means complete.  Feel free to comment below with some of the things you learned and with your comments about Jesus Christ.
